Swab Surface Sampling

Swab Surface Sampling is a mold sampling method that may be used when mold testing. Swab sampling will tell us exactly what is growing on a specific substrate, it does not tell us what mold spores are airborne. Swab sampling is commonly used in attics, crawl spaces or any area where you want to find out exactly what is growing in an area. These samples are also sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis.

Interpreting Swab Surface Sampling Lab Results

Once we receive the lab results from the laboratory we prepare a thorough written report that will outline: what was observed during the mold inspection, any recommendations we can make to improve indoor air quality, tips on prevent mold growth and an analysis of the lab results. If the lab results indicate that “abnormal” fungal/mold conditions exist, the report will also outline the suggested mold remediation steps.
